BRS Curricula
A broad range of international curriculum include AP, A-Level, and IB.
AP Program
Through the school’s extensive College Board AP program, BRS students take college level courses, thereby demonstrating to college admissions officers that they can be successful in higher education and beyond. Each BRS AP course culminates in a college-level exam developed and scored by college and university faculty members as well as experienced AP teachers. Top colleges and universities and universities worldwide recognize AP in the admission process and accept successful exam scores for credit, advanced placement, or both. Performing well on an AP Exam also increases the chances of admission to the most elite universities in the US and beyond.
Since 2006, BRS has operated China’s most extensive AP program, offering courses and examinations in 22 subjects. BRS is also the only official College AP Demonstration School in China. All BRS AP courses undergo the College Board’s rigorous audit process and are taught by highly qualified instructors with the experience and training required by the College Board. BRS also offers Pre-AP courses that provide the language training and subject fundamentals crucial to success in more advanced AP courses.

Complementing but extending beyond the Cambridge International Education Program offered to students, BRS is an approved provider of the Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications Programme, an in-service teacher-training programme developed by Cambridge University and supported by the University of London-Institute of Education (UCL-IOE, ranked top in the world for three consecutive years in the field of education). BRS offers its own teachers and those from the region an opportunity to earn Cambridge PDQ Certification.
Certification will be completed in three stages. Upon completion of the first stage of study, the phasic certificate will be obtained, and teachers who complete the all three phases will eventually receive a degree certificate. Each stage will include 40 hours’ instruction of teaching methodology and theories, 40 hours’ listening assessment and reflection, and 40 hours’ professional seminars.
At the same time, the Cambridge International Centre will select teachers with rich teaching experience and solid theoretical background as the mentors of the PDQs programme. The mentors will provide effective classroom management suggestions and guide the students in the form of supervision throughout the programme. Each mentor who participates in PDQs will receive a certificate.
