Rowell mentioned about how they helped the pupils prepare the garden beds from anempty space full of grass to lovely garden beds. After sharing, they discussed the problems encountered by the teachers during the sowing and transplanting season. They asked about the growing condition of seeds after sowing them. They emphasized that it was important for them to know the conditions of the seed so they will know how to address this problem in the future. They were all convinced that the pupils are doing agreat job in maintaining the garden after seeing the newly transplanted seedlings. They were delighted to see how the pupils and teachers work together which resulted to a beautiful garden site suitable for planting and growing vegetables. They gave suggestions and advice on how to keep the vegetable healthy by adding organic fertilizers during the growing period. They admire how the teachers are spending extra time to keep the garden clean and keep the plants properly watered. Pupils learning and participation were also discussed by the organizers and the teachers during this visit. According to them, pupils’process of gaining knowledge and developing skills through gardening are the highlight of this project.

Jane introduced thehigh school garden to them as they walked around the back area. They were surprised to see the little green house built by high school students. After seeing, inspecting and discussing about the gardens, they spent extra time to walk around the whole campus and were amazed by its beauty. They were welcomed by Principal Ren and Vice Principal Bian at the primary building near the TAO office. Then they went to see the other facilities of the school including the library, cafeteria and the sports field.
