无人机表演震撼全场,点燃王府学子的科学梦!

 

初心承百年,青年创未来。随着世界经济和高新技术研发的加速发展,科技、创新、人才,已成为国家和民族未来发展的强盛之基与进步之魂。

在3月15日举行的北京王府学校第六届科学节启动仪式上,一段由王府创客选修课无人机项目带来的精彩表演,获得了在场师生的连连称赞。至此,已成功举办五届的王府科学节拉开了新的序幕。

王府校区一直十分重视学生科学素养的提升,通过教师队伍自研及优质教育资源引进,建设创客实验室、智能编程教室,打造独具王府特色的创客教育、steam教育等校本课程,从而形成多元立体的科学课程体系和创新教育模式。

学科学,爱科学,用科学

 

校本课程的发展与创客教育的建设,不仅有效培养了学生主动探索、批判思维、自主创新、合作研究、语言表达、艺术创作等能力,还为学校未来的教育创新发展提供了有力支持。例如,在本届科学节开幕仪式上表演的无人机课程,就能最大限度吸引学生的注意力,从而让学生产生极大的学习兴趣。

除此之外,我校还开设Python编程、人工智能编程、模型车、VEX IQ机器人、stem科学课、steam创客教育课程(提高级)、电子电路课、创客乐高机器人编程、Apple swift编程等众多科技类选修课。学生可以根据自己的兴趣爱好,自主选修、走班上课,并通过参加国内外的各类科技竞赛不断提升自己。

同时,在教学过程中,老师们也将传统的被动学习转变为学生自主学习,以可视化的事件教学方式,提高学生在学习中的成就感,激发学生对世界的好奇与兴趣,既有效保证了学习热情,还培养了迎难而上、直面挑战的品质。

学校还通过举办“大手拉小手,科学家进校园”等科普活动,构建校园科学创新的学术氛围,帮助学生了解遥感卫星、人工智能、克隆技术、航天科技等前沿科学知识,真正将学科学、爱科学,用科学落到实处。

 

在兴趣培养中成长,在科学实践中突破

 

回望过去五年科学节的发展历程,我们会惊喜的发现,一届又一届王府学子在科学项目的研发中,不断跳出舒适区勇于创新,全面展示了属于王府学子的智慧与才能。同时,也让我们看到了王府学校注重科学素养提升,重视PBL探索、创客教育、STEAM教育的决心与成果。

希望通过科学节的举办,能够帮助王府学子领悟学科学,爱科学、用科学的意义,以真才实学在创新的科学世界中尽情翱翔,并在接下来举行的科学节系列活动中,展示自我、碰撞火花,用激情点燃王府学校的科学梦。

 

The 6th Annual BRS Science Fair kicked off on March 15 in the BRS Auditorium with an opening ceremony featuring a fantastic Unmanned Aerial Vehicle show presented by teachers and students of the BRS Maker elective courses. Principal Wang Guangfa also addressed our enthusiastic students and expressed that science commands very impressive power in our world. He believes that, in the future, every student will be empowered through scientific technology to pave the way to new avenues of discovery and exploration.

In the past five years, BRS’s Science Fair has been the most anticipated and most enthusiastically attended campus activity by all students and teachers. The BRS Annual Science Fair is a demonstration of what students have learned about science.  It allows our students to showcase brilliant achievements through inquiry-based projects, which, in turn, celebrates the deep-seated commitment BRS maintains for scientific innovation.

By implementing the scientific teaching approach, BRS has focused on cultivating and improving students’ scientific literacy and enhancing their innovative consciousness and scientific application skills. This teaching approach promotes the construction of various scientific disciplines for BRS to endorse, and builds an academic atmosphere for innovative scientific discovery on campus.

Many different resources and platforms are used to inspire students’ discovery and innovation in the world of science. Approaches to learning include: enhancing the school’s research-based teaching; introducing advanced resources; creating rich school-based electives courses, such as establishing BRS Maker’s Lab, Python programming, AI programming, UVA, Model car, VEX IQ robot, STEM, just to name a few. In the past year, BRS has actively responded to the State Council’s “National Scientific Literacy Action Plan” by launching on campus the “Big Hand Holds Small Hand” Scientists Enter Campus Series of Activities.

Looking back on the past five years, we at BRS are pleasantly surprised to see how well the Science Fair has developed as an effective tool for students to fully demonstrate their acquired knowledge and innate ability. Showcasing students’ brilliant achievements through inquiry-based projects, such as microbial fuel cells and simple bionic robotic arms, the Science Fair demonstrates the determination and achievements of Beijing Royal School in focusing on science education and attaching importance to Problem-based Learning and STEAM teaching.
