√Fenfen Deng with a double major in English translation and accounting has the valuable ability to teach both math and English. As a mentee in the BRS Faculty Mentorship Program, she was guided by her mentor to develop more studentcentered approaches to teaching. In helping students prepare for success in academic reading she stresses the mastery of key academic vocabulary and the ability to “unpack” long, multiclause sentences to extract their core content.
